My Story

Living the first eighteen years of my life in a forest in Germany, I spent far more time outdoors than indoors, and those early years shaped me deeply. Being surrounded by trees, seasons, silence, and natural rhythms became the foundation of who I am. For the next 25 years, I worked as a travel consultant in two different travel agencies. I specialised in individual travel to Canada. As the years passed, I felt an increasing longing to one day work in nature.

Due to changes in my professional and private life, this inner pull grew stronger until I finally listened. I enrolled in a wilderness education program at the Wildniswissen School in Germany. This time changed me. Through deep connection within the community, I found the courage to follow a new path on another continent.

I signed up for a year-long ranger and field guide training with EcoTraining in South Africa and Botswana. The entire training — including theory, practical exams, and graduation — took place in unfenced camps, sleeping in dome tents for 1 year! After graduation, I gained further experience through mentorships and volunteering in South Africa and Zambia.

Over the last two years, especially through private guiding, I have realised that I enjoy it most when I can guide guests at a slower pace — more mindfully, more deeply connected — helping them to be in the here and now. This calling led me further into nature connection work. In 2025, I completed a certified facilitator course in nature therapy guiding and Shinrin Yoku at Zen Guiding in South Africa.
